George
Vandeveer Noblitt & Coleen Noblitt Andry by Martin Andry In 1863 15 year old
George was plowing with a mule on the farm in SE Township when Morgan’s
Raiders
came through stealing horses for the Confederacy.
George’s father was away fighting in the
Union Army. As the
raiders went to take
the mule, they noticed it was blind; therefore, they left it. George died in 1945 at 97;
he lived on a farm
in a log cabin which still is inhabited.
