CORPSE C. O. D.
On Saturday a corpse was received at English by Express C.O.D.
with $45.00 charge against it. It was the body of Elizabeth Seybold,
who died at the Southern Asylum and the authorities had shipped it to
relatives who lived near Fargo in Orange County north of this place.
The parties were notified by telephone and came in and paid the
charges. It cost $2.80 for a live passenger to come from Evansville by
railroad, but the luxury of riding in an Express car dead is more than
some of us can afford.
