State of Indiana, County of Orange, ss.
At a session of the Board of Commissioners for the county aforesaid, begun and held at the Court Hose in the Town of Paoli, in said county, on the second Monday of November, which was the 10th day of the said month, in the year of our Lord 1817. Present Jonathan Lindley, Samuel Cobb, and Jesse Hollowell, Commissioners.
Ordered, that Thomas Evans be allowed sixty-five cents for returning the polls for Justice of Peace from his house to the county seat in March last.
Ordered, that John Murphin be appointed overseer of the road from the bed of Lost River to the Cincinnati trail and along said trail to the county line west and that all hands in the bounds of Samuel Blair, the last overseer, work on said road.
Ordered that Adly Campbell be allowed three dollars for listing property in the year 1817; also for attending two elections and making returns, one in 1816 and one in 1817, the sum of two dollars and seventy cents.
Ordered, the Jonathan Lindley be allowed five dollars for money paid Rebecca Hopper to get her to sign the conveyance for the land of the town of Paoli.
Ordered, that Wm. M. Blair be allowed three dollars for listing the taxable property of the Northwest township of Orange County and returning the same.
Ordered, that Wm. Lindley be allowed four dollars for listing and returning the list of taxable property in Paoli township for the year 1817.
Ordered, that Samuel Dougerty be allowed one dollar and fifty cents for his services as a clerk at the August election in the year 1816.
Ordered, that Wm. Pinnick be allowed seven dollars for seven day's service as supervisor in warning and working the hands on the road in the year 1816.
Ordered, that Zacharias Lindley, sheriff, be allowed for twenty-two horses returned as delinquents, at twenty-five cents each.
Ordered, that Zacharias Lindley, sheriff, be charged with twenty six dollars and twenty-five cents, agreeable to the list rendered to this Board for money received by him as supernumeraries and the clerk furnish the county Treasurer with a copy of the same.
Ordered, that C. Doan be allowed one dollar and fifty cents for farming out James Hill and purchasing a poor book.
Ordered, that Robert C. Staats be allowed four dollars for his services in taking in the list of taxable property of Leatherwood township in the year 1817.
Ordered, the court adjourn until tomorrow, nine o'clock.

Board met according to adjournment.
Ordered, that Josiah Hazlewood be allowed one dollar and fifty cents for guarding Eli Pucket thirty-six hours.
Ordered that Solomon Stout be appointed overseer of the road leading from the south end of Main Street in the town of Paoli to Manident's old cabin, with the hands adjacent thereto.
Ordered, that Zacharias Lindley be allowed $4.25 for one chamber pot and one blanket furnished the jail.
Ordered, that John Crople be appointed overseer of the road from Manidents's old cabin to the government trail, with all hands adjacent.
Ordered, that Robert Sands be appointer overseer of the road from where John Crople leaves off to the southeast corner of his, the said Sands, land, with the hands adjacent thereto.
Ordered, that Joseph Kincaid be appointed overseer of the road from the southeast corner of Robert Sands' land to the Perry line, with the hands adjacent thereto.
N.B. That the four gentlemen above appointed for the purpose of opening a road lately viewed by Robert Sands and John Hollowell, appointed for that purpose by this Board at its August session, from Paoli, beginning at the south end of Min Cross street, running up the ridge between Clendenin's land and Towel's to the top of said ridge and then along the point from that to Jacob Dinon's, thence nearly with the meridian line to Scott's branch, thence so as to pass Sander's house down said branch to Little Blue River, thence to the Perry line in the thirty-fifth section, near the half mile stake in range one west, two south.
Ordered, that Wm. Lindley, Sr. be notified to attend the Board at its next session on the Second Monday of February next, and render an account of the monies he received while acting as Treasurer of Orange, now Paoli township in the year 1816.

Ordered, that Daniel Freeman be allowed $3 for his services as an overseer of the road leading from Orleans to the Half Moon Spring, 1816.
On the petition of Aaron Shively and others, for a county road leading from Paoli to intersect the Cincinnati trail at the east end of the Big Ruff Crossing, Lost River, through the southeast part of section 4, in township number 2, north of range number 2 west.
Ordered, that Thomas Lindley, Sr., Abraham Bosley and Michael Real be appointed to view the route marked out in said petition and report to the next Board.
On return of Reuben Hazlewood, Thos. Giles and Meridith Hazlewood, appointed at the last August session of this Board to view the ground, when Joel Charles proposed to turn the state road, by which it appears that the proposed was is twenty feet nearer and much the better way.
Ordered, that the said Joel Charles be authorized to cut out the said proposed way agreeable to law.
Ordered, that the Board adjourn until Friday next, at 10 o'clock a.m.
