Sarah Evans to Thomas Harrison

This Indenture made between Sarah Evans of the County of Orange and State of Indiana of the first part and Thomas Harrison of the County and State aforesaid of the Second part Witnesseth that the Said party of the first part for and in Consideration of the Sum of one hundred and fifty dollars lawful money of the United States to her in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged does by these presents grant bargain sell and convey unto the said party of the Second part his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land with the appurtenances thereto belonging Situated in the County of Orange and State of Indiana it being part of the west half of the North East Quarter of Section three Township one South of Range one East and bounded as follows Towit Commencing at a Small Sugar tree near the spring west or parallel with the base line thirty two rods thence South parallel with the North and South line forty seven rods thence west to a line between Harrison Bobbitt and Wyatt Childers thence South with said line seventy four rods thence East with the division line of said Section to the South East corner of said lot thence North to the place of beginning Estimated to contain fifty Acres more or less Together with the appurtenances thereon to belonging To Have and To Hold the same to the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns to their only proper use and benefit forever and the said party of the first part covenant and agree with the party of the second part that they are lawfully seized in fee of the said premises that they have good right to sell and convey the same in manner that they are free from incumbrances and that she will and her heirs Executors and administrators Shall Warrant and defend the title thereof to the said party of the Second part his Heirs and assigns for ever against all lawful claims Whatever In Testimony Whereof the said party of the first part hereunto doth set her hand and seal this twenty Sixth day of January in the year one thousand Eight hundred and forty nine}.

Orange County Sct} Before me Richard D. Mattox a Justice of the peace in and for the County aforesaid personally appeared the above named Sarah Evans and acknowledged the Execution of the foregoing deed of Conveyance to be her voluntary and deed and as Such Sealed and delivered the same given under my hand and seal this twenty sixth day of January 1849
