The following column reports the happenings in Bethel Church, and has the handwritten date of July 1925 on it.

"Thirty-four in Sunday School last Sunday. Albert JOHNSON, who had been at the West Baden hospital for some few days, came home last Saturday. Miss Lorena CLEVELAND, of Peru, who was visiting C.E. BAKER and wife, attended Sunday School here last Sunday. Miss Mary PINNICK who has been visiting in Lawrence county for some time returned home Friday and is now on the sick list. RUSSELL Bros., who have been living on the Elmer MORGAN place moved to a house in the Will CLEVELAND farm Monday. The visitors at Will CLEVELAND'S Sunday were Albert CARTER, wife and children from Prospect and Arthur CLEVELAND, wife and son from Peru. All people who have relatives or friends buried in the old cemetery at Bethel and have not paid anything this year to help keep it up please send their donation to W.J. CLEVELAND, West Baden, Ind. Sam IKERD'S brother and wife came over Sunday on a visit. Mrs. IKERD'S brother and sister, that she had not seen for many years came to see her. Williard BROWN'S sister came Saturday on a visit. Did not learn where she lives nor when she will return. A.C. CLEVELAND and family from near Mitchell were down near here Monday on a visit. Alfred BAKER visited his brother Henry, north of here Tuesday. Edmund CLEVELAND made a trip to West Baden Monday. Geo. CLEVELAND and son went to Orleans Tuesday after goods."

This column is dated October 22, 1925:

"Thirty in Sunday school here last Sunday. Mrs. Willard BROWN is quite sick with diphtheria and has been poorly for some days. We hope she will be well again. Harvey PINNICK was sick part of last week. Doctor BOYD was called to see him Tuesday night then came back Wednesday to see him again. He is better and able to go about now. Miss Mary PINNICK visited Miss Alice CHILDS after Sunday school last Sunday. Grandma GIBBONS who lived in this vicinity for many years, but lately lived with her son, Dr. George, at Mitchell, died there Tuesday night of last week and was buried here Thursday. N.F. DENNY of West Baden conducted the funeral assisted by the M.E. preachers of Orleans and Orangeville. Another one of our old acquaintances has left us and gone to her reward. Roscoe CLEVELAND and wife came down and spent Sunday at his father's. Mrs. Willard BROWN has been poorly for some days with sore throat. Miss Helen CLEVELAND met with an acident Monday, when she went to get in the school truck to come home from Orleans, by some means she fell and cut both of her knees, one of them had a bad cut. She is still able to attend school. Tom CLEVELAND has been confined to the house for some days, having a severe cold. He was thought to be some better this morning. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Dutch BROTHERS last Thursday a 10 1/2 pound girl. The M.E. Church, known as Mathers Chapel, was sold last Saturday and the things inside also. The land belonging to the people who owned the house. John RITTER bought the house and Sam BURTON bought the land. Ed BAKER did not get the house or land, he bought the organ. Anyone wanting to hear music call on Ed to play for them. Mrs. C.E. BAKER, who has been sick for some time, is much improved, able to help with the housework again. It is quite cold this morning (Tuesday) mercury several degrees below the freezing point."
