at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Assigned to the 16th Engineer Battalion, 1st
Armored Division. Departed New York aboard the RMS Queen Mary on 11
May 1942.Arrived in Ireland 16 May 1942 moved to England. Departed
for Operation Torch November 1942. Part of the invasion force of
French Northwest Africa landing near Oran, North Africa. And
advanced toward Tunisia against German Field Marshal Rommel. Missing
in action on 10 December 1942. Donald is Memorialized at the North
Africa American Cemetery Carthage, Tunisia Award include the Purple
Heart.
