Enlisted on 29 May 1941
at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana. Served with the 10th Air Force
7th Bomb Group 492nd Bomb Squadron Heavy "Eager Beavers". In the
Pacific Theater. Activated 25 October 1942 at Karachi, India. Combat
debut 21 January 1943 attacking docks at Rangoon, Burma. A bomber
pilot assigned to the U.S. Embassy in China under General Stillwell
completed 48 missions. Flew ISS/CIA reconnaissance destination
bridge over the River Kwai. Awards include Distinguish Flying Cross,
Purple Heart and Air Medal for Meritorious Achievement.
