DECEMBER 1942 SAILED FOR THE PACIFIC THEATER OF OPERATIONS, STRUCK A MINE
APPROACHING THE CANAL ZONE. AFTER REPAIRS RETURNED TO NORFOLK, VIRGINIA. SAILED
TO THE MEDITERRANEAN THEATER OF OPERATIONS AND RETURNED. SAILED FOR OMAHA BEACH
WITH THE 29TH INFANTRY DIVISION AND RETURNED. SAILED FOR THE PACIFIC THEATER OF
OPERATIONS ON 8 NOVEMBER 1944 FOR THE INVASION OF OKINAWA. RETURNED TO SAN
FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA ARRIVING ON 22 AUGUST 1945. RATING OF CARPENTER'S MATE
SECOND CLASS PETTY OFFICER.
