Enlisted on 27 October 1941 at Louisville, Kentucky. Served with the 34th Infantry Division 168th Infantry Regiment Company F in the North African Theater Tunisia. Captured by the German Army on 17 February 1943 imprisoned at Stalag 2B Hammerstein, West Prussia until 10 July 1945.
