Born: Oct 29, 1758, Morris Co, New Jersey

Died: May 1838 - has stone.

Buried: Stampers Creek Cemetery, Paoli Township, Orange County, Indiana

Service: Enlisted in the Virginia Troops as Follows:
Nov 1775, under Capt Johnathan PADDOCKS, marched to a station at mouth of Fish Creek on Virginia side of Ohio River.
Served two months in Capt Samuel MASON'S compnay, guarding the frontiers.
In Oct 1776, served 2 motnhs in Capt Thomas GADDIS' and SPRINGER'S Company
In 1777, served four months assisted in building Fort McIntosh and Tuscaraws.
Enlisted Dec 25, 1780, in Randolph County, N Carolina
Private in Capt Charles GOLDSTON'S Company, Col John LUTTRELL'S NC Regiment.
Service again in 1781 and was discharged March 16, 1782.
In 1782 under Gen William CRAWFORD, was in battle of Sandusky.

Directions: From the Courthouse Square in Paoli, Indiana take State Rd 56 east about four miles and Stampers Crrek Church and Cemetery is on the left or Northsides of SR 56 at the intersection with County Road CR 350E located in Section 34 of Paoli Township.

This cemetery also is the resting grounds of Rev War Soldier George Duncan, plus a memorial stone for Soldier John Dougherty.
