Enlisted 15 February 1943 at Louisville, Kentucky. Served with the 142nd Infantry Regiment, 36th Infantry Division. In the European Theater of Operation. September 1943 landed in
Italy. Took part in the invasion of Anzio Beach and Rome. 14 August 1944 took part in the invasion of southern France and into Germany. Was at Kufstein, Austria at wars end. Six months of Occupation duty.
