Entered
service on 19 March 1942 at Chicago, Illinois. Served with the 4th Armored
Division 35th Tank Battalion US 3rd Army 12th Army Group in the European
Theater. Campaigns: Normandy Northern France Ardennes and Rhineland. Awarded the
Purple Heart Medal for burns received when the tank he was driving ran over a
mine on 20 March 1945 in Germany. Discharged on 19 October 1945.
