Enlisted on 5 January 1943 at Evansville, Indiana.
Served with the 106th Cavalry Group [mechanized] "Any Where Any Time" Landed in France [ Utah Beach] on 29 June 1944.Advanced to Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Alsace Rhineland, and Central Europe, With the 1st,3rd and 7th US Army. On 5 June 1945 liberated Leopold King of Belgium near Strobl and Wolfgang, Germany. Among the first Allied soldiers to enter Hitler's resort compound at Berchesgarten. Award include Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Two French Croix de Guerrere for action at Luneville and Caen-Falaise in 1944.
