            Veteran.Enlisted 15 April 1941 at Louisville,Kentucky.Served with 
            the 638th Tank Destroyer Battalion Headquaters Conpany{Attached to 
            the 84th Infantry Division}Trained at Camp 
            Shelby,Mississippi.Arrived at Cherbourg,France on 7 September 1944 
            Equipped with M-18 "Hell Cat" tanks.Entered the line near Prummern 
            on 20 November shifted to the Ardennes sector around 
            Rochefort,Belgium on 22 December to reduce the "Bulge"until January 
            1945 crossed the Roer River in February and the Rhine River, 1 April 
            advanced across Germany and reached the Elbe River near Whittenberg 
            on 24 April. Discharged on October 11, 1945.
