Enlisted on 22 February 1943 at Louisville, Kentucky. served with the 187th Glider Infantry Regiment 11th Airborne Division "Angles". Trained at Camp Mackall, North Carolina and Camp Polk, Louisiana.Departed San Francisco, California on 6 May 1944 for New Guinea. Departed on 11 November 1944 for Leyte Island, Philippines. Saw heavy fighting on Purple Heart Hill, Nasugbu Bay, Luzon, Jungle of Tagayray ridge Capture Fort McKinley.February 1945 Landed on Okinawa. Award include the Bronze Star Medal.
