in the Iowa National Guard 12 April 1917 at Webster City, Iowa. Trained at Camp
Dodge, Iowa and Camp Mills, New York. Assigned to 42nd Division 168th Infantry
Company C. Overseas 14 November 1917.Killed in action 18 October 1918 at Cote de
Chatillon during the Meuse Argonne Offensive.
