DEAD MAN HAD POSTAL CARDS - Addressed to Edith Lewis and Margaret Jones, This City - WAS FOUND DEAD AT LYDICK
Believed Yesterday to Have Been William Glendenning of Laporte - Michigan City Police Called Into Case
Supt. Haller, of the police force, received a telephone call last night from Coroner Clark, of South Bend, who is making efforts to identify the remains of a man found along Lake Shore tracks at Lydick, as mentioned in Tuesday's News.
Reports yesterday were to the effect that the man was supposed to be William Glendenning, of Laporte. This was merely a supposition due to the fact that a postal card bearing that address was found upon his person. According to Coroner Clark there is a Michigan City end in this case, postal cards addressed to Michigan City girls also having been found on the dead man's person. Among the cards were two addressed to Edith Lewis and Margaret Jones, of this city. Another card bore the name of Louis Jones, Laporte. The dead man was about five feet, eight inches tall and was 23 years old. He had brown hair, blue eyes and wore a good suit of clothes. The Lewis and Jones girls were seen today by the police and both recalled having written to Glendenning, a resident of State street, Laporte. As they remember him his description tallies with that of the dead man. Word from Laporte this afternoon was to the effect that Glendenning, although a resident of that city, had been employed for several years as a farm hand, his last employment having been near Door Village. He had been in Michigan City and was enroute
to visit a South Bend sweetheart when he was run down and killed by a Lake Shore train.

Camden is a small station on the Vandalia, a few miles north of Frankfort, in Carrol County, Tuesday evening, two miles east of there, a cowardly cold blooded murder was committed. Mrs. Louisa Nipple, a widow and mother of six children, being the victim. Mrs. Nipple was in a cornfield across the road from her house getting a few ears for her chickens. Suddenly two men arose in front of her and one of them fired and Mrs. Nipple fell with a murderous charge of shot in her groin and abdomen. The murderers fled and the neighbors, attracted by the shot and woman's screams, hurried to the spot and carried her to her home. The cornfield is owned by Daniel Niebel, a wealthy farmer and suspicion points to him and his son Noah. They were summoned before the coroner
last night and denied all knowledge of the crime, stating that they were in their home, a 1/4 of a mile distance from where the crime was committed. The feeling runs very high. Mrs. Nipple enjoyed a splendid reputation and
stated before dying that the value of a few ears of corn was so small that she did not think anyone would object to her taking it.
