Rochester, Ind., July 4 - The body of Lewis Goff, 50-year-old farmer was found hanging in a barn on his farm southeast of here today. His suicide apparently was motivated by domestic troubles. Saturday Mrs. Goff went to the home of a daughter, Mrs. Clarence Thompson on an adjoining farm and yesterday Goff went there and requested Thompson to care for his livestock, saying he was going away. Later two shots were heard. Investigation today revealed Goff's body. It is believed he fired the shots before hanging himself to attract searchers. Goff had threatened suicide several times, relatives said. Two of his brothers, took their own lives two years ago.
Goff's death is the fourth in a series of suicides here in the last few days.
