Mrs. Hilda Madden, 41, of 319 McKinney Avenue died at 10:15 pm Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital of complications following an operation two weeks ago. A native of Fort Wayne, Mrs. Madden was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She is survived by her husband, John Madden; a son, Paul; a daughter, Phyllis; three sisters, Mrs. Carl Beck and Mrs. Dallas Broxon, both of Fort Wayne and Mrs. Pearl Stritmatter of Detroit. Ida Zaporah (Hall) Malone

Huntington, May 17 – Mrs. Ida Zaporah Malone, 66, died unexpectedly yesterday at the Huntington County Hospital where she had been a patient since suffering a broken hip April 29. She was a member of the Ladies auxiliary to the B. of L. F. and E. Her first marriage was to Joseph Shavey, who is dead. Surviving from the union are a son, Grover Shavey, Redondo Beach, Cal., and a daughter, Mrs. Glenn Hier, Huntington. Also surviving are the second husband, George T. Malone; two brothers, William G. Hall, Elkhart and Lamon A. Hall, Huntington and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at the home at 2 pm (CDT) Sunday, Rev. A. B. McKain officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

George Marshall

Funeral services for George Marshall, 82, retired Pennsylvania Railroad train inspector, who died of a stroke of apoplexy at 6:45 o’clock Wednesday morning at his home on the Allen-Whitley County Line Road, will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Klaehn & Sons Funeral Home, Rev. L. U. Krider of Columbia City officiating. Burial will be in Lindenwood Cemetery. Friends may view the body at the funeral home. The deceased was born in England and had resided here 53 years. He was employed by the railroad 38 years, retiring 16 years ago. He was a member of the Blue River Church of the Brethren and the Pennsylvania Volunteer Relief and Western Veterans’ Associations. Survivors include the widow, Emily Jane; two sons, Charles L. at home and William Marshall of this city; four daughters, Mrs. Daisy Noble and Mrs. Anna Swain of this city, Mrs. Jennie White of Garrett and Mrs. Elizabeth Burt of Indianapolis; 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Auburn, May 14 - Glenn Martin, former Auburn resident, died at the Richmond Hospital today. He had been in Richmond a year. Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Martin of this city; his widow and one daughter, Betty Ruth of Albion, Mich.; and two sisters, Mrs. Zora Titler of Jackson Township and Mrs. Alma Meyer of Wauseon. The body was removed to the Clark Funeral Home.

Sandra Sue (Vallad) Martin

Sandra Sue Martin, 74, of Warren, IN, passed away at 8:55 AM on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Heritage Pointe in Warren, with her family by her side. She was born on Wednesday, July 7, 1943, in Hartford City, IN. She married James W. "Jim" Martin on Friday, March 25, 1960; he passed away on December 26, 2015. Sandra worked in the nutritional services at Heritage Pointe for many years. She was a member of Sigma Phi Gamma, and was Den mother for the Cub Scouts. She enjoyed bowling and had been on a Warren work league, which she very much enjoyed. Sandy liked collecting angels and especially loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of the Hillcrest Church of the Nazarene in Warren. Clarence E. McKean Dies This Morning
Clarence E. McKean, 66, a retired farmer and a native and former resident of Adams county, died at 1:15 o'clock this morning at his home in Avilla following a year's illness. He was born in Adams county Jan. 27, 1897, a son of W. F. and Cora Haggard-McKean, and resided in Adams county until eight years ago, when he moved to Avilla. Mr. McKean was a member of the Farm Bureau. Surviving are his wife, Ruth; two daughters, Mrs. Lucilla Burke of Sturgis, Mich., and Mrs. Pauline August of Decatur; one step-son, Meredith Cline of Grand Rapids, Mich., seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Alton McKean of St. Louis, Mo., and Millard McKean of New Albany, and one sister, Mrs. Alta Eisert of Indianapolis. Daniel McVicker

Wabash, May 16 - Funeral services for Daniel McVicker, 81, will be held at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon at the Jones Funeral Home, Rev. Fred Wolff of the First Christian Church will have charge of the services and burial will be in the Friends Cemetery. Mr. McVicker, a retired farmer, took his own life by hanging at the home of his son, Joseph McVicker late Wednesday afternoon. He had been worried because ill health had forced him to become inactive.

Huntington, May 14 - The body of Mrs. Carolyn Merle, 87, who died last night at the Sacred Heart Home in Avilla, where she had lived three years, was brought to the W. R. Briggs Funeral Home here. Daniel B. Mikesell

Warsaw, Jan. 19 - Daniel B. Mikesell, 60, of Winona Lake, head of the American Brattice Cloth Company of Warsaw, died early this morning at the Murphy Hospital of a cerebral hemorrhage. He was found early last night lying in the snow beside his automobile, parked on the courthouse square. The deceased was a native of Troy, O. He came to Warsaw 14 years ago from Wabash to head the Brattice Cloth Company, manufacturers of mine curtains and air tubings. He was a member of the board of trustees of the Winona Lake Presbyterian Church and of the advisory board of Wayne Township. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Winona Men's Club. Surviving are the widow, Ella; a son, Blaine, at home, and two brothers, Neal Mikesell of Warsaw and H. S. Mikesell of Dallas, Tex. The funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Winona Lake Presbyterian Church with Dr. Parley E. Zartmann, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Fannie Miller

The funeral of Mrs. Fannie Miller, 88, R. R. 2, Grabill, will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at the residence and at 10 a.m. at Cuba Mennonite Church, with John Yoder officiating. A lifelong resident of Allen County, Mrs. Miller died Saturday at 9:45 p.m. in Parkview Memorial Hospital where she was a patient two weeks. She had been ill four months. She was a member of the Cuba Mennonite Church. Her husband, the Rev. Menno Miller, died in 1950. Survivors include a sister, Sara Lengacher, R. R. 2, Grabill, and several nieces and nephews. Andrews, May 19 – Mrs. Sarah Ellen Milliner, 63, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Roy Frushour yesterday after several weeks’ illness. Her marriage was to Jacob Milliner. Surviving are a son, William Milliner, LaFontaine; two daughters, Mrs. George Haynes, near Lagro and Mrs. Frushour; three sisters, eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm (CST) Tuesday at the Church of the Brethren.

Mrs. Lena Monroe

Wabash, May 13 - Mrs. D. C. Drill of south Wabash learned Sunday of the death of her mother, Mrs. Lena Monroe, which occurred at her home in Muncie. Mrs. Monroe apparently fainted while at work in the kitchen of her apartment and fell against a gas range, opening a valve as she fell. Coroner Earl K. Parson said that death was probably due to the effects of gas. When police entered the gas filled apartment they found an unopened telegram on the floor which had been sent by a granddaughter, Miss Adele Drill in which she had wired on Mother’s Day that “there should be a day for grandmother’s too.” Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Grace Drill; one granddaughter, Miss Adele Drill, student at DePauw University and one grandson, James, student at Tri-State College.

Margaret Ann Mudrack

Margaret Ann Mudrack, 16-months-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Mudrack of 2225 Chestnut Street, died at 4 am yesterday at the home of the parents. She had been ill of pneumonia for four weeks. The parents are members of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church. Surviving are three brothers, Joseph, James and John Mudrack and a sister, Phyllis Mudrack. The body was taken to Mungovan & Sons Mortuary and will be returned to the residence this afternoon. Services will be held there at 10 am Tuesday and interment will be in the Catholic Cemetery.

North Webster, May 15 – John L. Murphy, 80, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Rebecca Johnson, of Wolf Lake, Wednesday morning after an illness of one week. He formerly resided east of here. He was a member of the Wilmot Church of God. Sturgis, Mich., May 14 - Mrs. Emma L. Neufer, 73, a resident of this city since 1912, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harry Kilbury, this morning after an illness of several months. Mrs. Neufer was a member of the Christian Church of Pleasant Hill, Ind., and the Grand Army of the Republic, the National Recovery Club and the Pythian Sisters of Kendallville. Surviving is one daughter, Mrs. Kilbury and a brother, Charles Butts of Kimmell. Joseph Niedermeyer, 74, died at 3 o’clock Monday afternoon at St. Joseph’s Hospital following a week’s illness. He resided with a daughter, Mrs. Howard L. Jones of 1402 Sinclair Street. A lifelong resident of this city, Mr. Niedermeyer was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Huntington, Jan. 18 - Harvey David Niles, 70, former Erie Railroad car checker, was found dead in bed at his home this morning. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge and the B.R.C. of A. Charles Frederick Nirdlinger

NATIVE OF CITY EXPIRES IN EAST
Charles Frederick Nirdlinger, 77, native of Fort Wayne and prominent in the theatrical world for many years, died Monday at a hospital in Atlantic City, N.J. Funeral services and burial took place Wednesday in Atlantic City. Mr. Nirdlinger was the son of Frederick and Hannah Nirdlinger. He attended Harvard College. For many years, he was a leading playwright, having written “Madame Pompadour,” “The World and His Wife,” “Hoch, The Consol” and “The First Lady Of The Land.” He also helped translate “More Than Queen.” He was also an author, having written the popular and widely-read “Masques And Mummers.” He was a drama critic for the Old New York Herald at one time, and formerly served as editor of the illustrated American magazine. Mr. Nirdlinger never married. Several nephews and nieces survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lillian L. NURSING BABY IS SUFFOCATED
While Mrs. Hugh Ralston, 3010 South Calhoun Street, dozed about 5 o’clock yesterday morning, her 16-day-old daughter, Sue Ann Ralston, suffocated as it nursed at the mother’s breast. The baby’s lips and nose had been pressed into the breast, preventing breathing, Dr. A. P. Hattendorf, coroner, said. Surviving are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Ralston and the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Maupin of Indianapolis, and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Ralston of Geneva. The body was removed to the Scheumann Funeral Home, where services will be held Monday. Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery.

Charles W. Ray, 81, of 8212 Huguenard Road, died at 6:30 pm yesterday in Parkview Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient since May 25. He was born in Adams County and resided in this area since 1935. He was a farmer. Surviving are his wife, Della; five daughters, Mrs. Helen Knott, Mrs. Vivien Johnson, Mrs. Louella Allen and Mrs. Maxine Jones, all of Fort Wayne and Mrs. Mary Geiger, Albion; a son, Clyde, Churubusco; a brother, Leland, Decatur; two sisters, Mrs. Cora Rickard, Decatur and Mrs. Mary Fuller, Tucson, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Carna Lou Reiff

Pierceton, May 18 – Carna Lou Reiff, two-months-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Reiff of Payne, O., formerly of Pierceton, died Friday after an illness with pneumonia. Final rites will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery here Sunday at 3 pm (CST). Two brothers, Jay and Larry and a sister, Sandra, also survive besides the parents.

Hicksville, O., May 13 – Mrs. Emma E. Richardson, 74, died today at her home here after an illness of several weeks. A native of Edgerton, she had been a resident of this city for 40 years. Surviving are one son, Guy Richardson of LaGrange, Ind.; one daughter, Mrs. Bessie Husted of Hicksville; eight grandchildren; three brothers and seven sisters. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 pm at the Perkins & Reeb Funeral Home here with Rev. W. W. Elliott officiating. Burial will be in Farmer Cemetery.

James A. Richardson

James A. Richardson, 74, died at 10:05 o’clock last night at his home at 1134 West Jefferson Street. He had been ill with heart disease for six weeks. Mr. Richardson was born in Washington Township, but had lived in Fort Wayne since he was six years old and was educated in city schools and the old Methodist College. He was employed at the S. F. Bowser Company for 22 years, having retired in 1933. Surviving are his wife, Sarah; a sister-in-law, Miss Mina Balls, who made her home with the Richardson’s, and four nieces and three nephews. Mr. Richardson was a member of the Summit Lodge No. 170 F&AM and was a Thirty-Second Degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite. The body was taken to the Klaehn & Sons Funeral Home. Huntington, May 15 - Ailing five years and seriously ill since last October, Mrs. Rachael E. Hensel Richardson, 70, died Wednesday morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Mary Paul, with whom she had been residing some time. Surviving are six children, Mrs. Mary Paul, at whose home she died; Samuel E. Richardson, Dearborn, Mich.; Miss Alice Jean Richardson, Chicago; John H. Richardson, Orrville, O.; Beryl Richardson, city; and Mrs. grace Jackman, Detroit, Mich.; a brother, John Hensel, city and 13 grandchildren. She was a member of the Mt. Etna Methodist Church and Rebekah Lodge. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 3 o’clock (CDT) at the daughter’s home, and burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.

Huntington, May 14 - Mrs. Lydia Elizabeth Rinearson, 88, died after a year of failing health last night at the home of a nephew, Samuel Pressler, on Riverside Drive. The only near survivor is the nephew. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 am (CDT) Wednesday at the Pressler home, Rev. J. W. Roach officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Andrews.

Ashley, May 16 – Chauncey Ringler, 68, of Salem Center died of cerebral thrombosis this morning at the Cameron Hospital in Angola. He suffered a fall several weeks ago at the barn at his farm home. Mrs. Ella Bain Robbins

LaGrange, May 16 – Funeral services for Mrs. Ella Bain Robbins, 71, of Mongo, will be held Saturday at 1:30 pm at the Methodist Church in Mongo. Burial will be made in the English Prairie Cemetery. Mrs. Robbins died Wednesday night at her home after several months’ illness from paralysis and heart trouble. She was born in Deedstown, Ind., and had lived in Mongo for the past 22 years. She was married September 17, 1917 to James Robbins. She was a member of the Mongo Methodist Church and of the Ladies Aid. Surviving are the husband and two sisters, Mrs. Irene Allen of Brownstown, Wis., and Mrs. Myrtle Pulliam of Peru. The body is at Caton Brothers Funeral Home in LaGrange.

Joyce Darlene (Miller) Roethler

Joyce Darlene Roethler, 76, of Van Buren, IN, passed away at 1:10PM on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Millers Merry Manor in Marion, IN. She was born on August, 9, 1941 in Marion, IN to Dale W. & Louise (Enyeart) Miller. She married Richard Roethler on December 19, 1997 in Fairbanks, Alaska; he passed away on August 15, 2002. Joyce was a graduate of Van Buren High School class of 1959. She also obtained her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Indiana State University. Joyce was in the United States Marine Corp and from 1959-1960 was stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. She moved to Alaska for 14 years, until moving back in 2008. When she was in Alaska, Joyce was a Veterans advocate and was very proud to finish a bill that provided a permanent "Women's Veterans Day" in the state of Alaska. She also assisted in developing a state veteran's cemetery in Alaska. Joyce was very passionate about serving in the military and continued to advocate for veteran's rights. Joyce dearly loved her family, country and Lord. She was a member of the Amvets post #5 in Marion and several Amvets posts in Alaska. Loving survivors include: Sons-Michael (Marie) Buff, Marion, IN, James "Rusty" (Stacey) Buff, Gas City, IN, Daughters-Tara (John) Street, Van Buren, IN, Rebecca Buff, Wintergarden, FL, Step Son-Brad (Aldie) Amundson, Oregon, 16 Grandchildren and 30 ½ Great Grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her Mother-Louise (Enyeart) Miller, Father-Dale W. Miller, Husband- Richard Roethler and Son- Dale Buff. Friends and family may gather to share and remember on Friday, January 12, 2017 at the Van Buren United Methodist Fellowship Hall 105 2nd Street Van Buren from 1:00-5:00PM. A celebration of life service will follow at 5:00PM with Pastor Cindy Osgood officiating. Interment will follow at a later date in the Gardens of Memory in rural Marion. Columbia City, May 18 – Mrs. Alida E. Sharp, 78, died early this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Nelson Campbell, after a month’s illness. Death was caused by a cerebral hemorrhage. Mrs. Sharp was born at Cannonsville, N.Y., and was married in 1881 to Worden Sharp, who died in 1935. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Campbell and one granddaughter. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the DeMoney Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Coesse Lutheran Cemetery.

Van Wert, O., May 20 – Funeral services were held this afternoon for Dr. Charles O. Sheets, 90, of this city, veterinary surgeon. Burial was in Woodland Cemetery. Dr. Sheets was a native of Ashland County, O. He was a graduate of Ontario Veterinary College and had practiced in Van Wert County since his graduation in 1889. His survivors are a son, Dr. F. F. Sheets of this city and a granddaughter.

Montpelier, May 18 – Mrs. Bertha Pearl Shinn died at noon today at her home here. John Sinclair

Funeral services for John Sinclair, 74, 919 South Harrison Street, who died at 9 o’clock Tuesday morning at the Lutheran Hospital after a week’s illness, will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Mungovan & Son’s Mortuary, Dr. Charles M. Houser officiating. Burial will be in Lindenwood Cemetery. Friends may view the body at the home from this evening until 10 o’clock Friday morning. The deceased was born in New York, but had resided here nearly his entire life. He was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church, Red Men’s Lodge and the Machinists Union. He was employed for 40 years as a Pennsylvania Railroad machinist and later for eight years by the City Light & Power Company. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Herbert McGuire; a brother, Thomas Sinclair of this city; two sisters, the Misses Rebecca and Ann Sinclair, of this city and one grandchild. His wife, Jessie, died two and one-half years ago.

Auburn, Jan. 16 - Mrs. Alberta Miller Smith, 68, of Newville, died Monday afternoon at the Souder Hospital here following a seven-week illness. Survivors include the husband, Harry T. Van Wert, O., May 18 – A sister and brother, Mrs. W. S. Slane, 66, and James Nelson Dingledine, 77, died within a few hours of each other last night at the Slane home in Liberty Township. Mr. Dingledine lived at Battle Creek, Mich., until he moved to the Slane home last October to care for his sister. Double funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 pm at the First Methodist Church in this city, conducted by Rev. Ira Benton of Ohio City. Interment will be in Woodland Cemetery. They were children of the late John and Frances Dingledine and Mrs. Slane was born in Van Wert County and her brother in Champaign County, O. She is survived by her husband, two step-children and a sister, Mrs. W. F. Flanarty of Battle Creek. Mr. Dingledine is survived by his widow; nine children, Fred, Orval and Clyde, Mrs. Katherine Kerr and Mrs. Marguerite Krick, all of Battle Creek, Orley of Hartford, Mich., Paul of Napoleon, O., and Vaughn at home and a sister, Mrs. Flanarty.

Columbia City, May 19 – May Ellen Smith, 68, of three miles southeast of Columbia City, a prominent resident of Whitley County for many years, died at 8:30 am today at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Fort Wayne. She was the mother of Mrs. Harry Bollinger, wife of the Whitley County Democratic Chairman. Surviving are the husband, Samuel, a prominent Whitley County farmer; a daughter, Mrs. Harry Bollinger of Columbia City; three stepsons, Frank Smith of Columbia Township, William Smith of Elkhart and Theodore Smith of Orlando, Fla.; a brother, Henry Harshbarger of Whitley County and a sister, Mrs. George Bents of Fort Wayne. The body was taken to the Luckenbill Funeral Home at Columbia City, where it will remain until Monday evening. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3 pm (CDT) at the Compton Church and interment will be in the church cemetery.

Frank Boyd Snider

Drowned Friday At Marble Lake
Frank Boyd Snider, 77, of 916 Russell street, a retired farmer, was accidentally drowned Friday afternoon at 3:45 o'clock while he and his wife, Jennie, were fishing in Marble Lake at Quincy, Mich. Mr. and Mrs. Snider, who own a cottage at the lake, and have spent the past several summers there, were fishing at the south end of the lake when the accident occurred. Mrs. Snider in some manner fell out ot the boat and her husband apparently drowned while attempting to rescue her. Mrs. Snider was saved from the lake by other fishermen. The drowning victim was born at Poe, June 9, 1885, a son of Preston and Mathilda Felger-Snider. He was married in 1905 to Mable Stewart, who died in 1942. He was then married to Jennie Miller Aug. 6, 1947. Mr. Snider attended the Bobo United Brethren church. Surviving in addition to his wife are three son, Wendell and Alvin Snider, both of Fort Wayne, and Chalmer Snider of Celina, O.; eight grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Lucius Sommers of Hoagland,. One daughter is deceased. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Zwick funeral home, the Rev. Richard Cesler officiating. Burial will be in the Poe cemetery. Garrett, May 19 – Clyde Snyder, 42, Garrett baker and World War veteran, died at Sacred Heart Hospital last night from a heart attack. Mr. Snyder was born in Fort Wayne. Surviving besides the widow are a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Miller of Garrett; a son, Maurice Snyder, at home; his mother, Mrs. Maude Taur of Houston, Tex.; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Wolf and Mrs. Lela Clark of Houston; a brother, Wayne Snyder of Houston and one grandchild. The body was removed from the Hinklin Funeral Home to the residence tonight. Military rites will be conducted by Aaron Soissinger Post, American Legion, Garrett, at the funeral, which will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock (CDT), at the Presbyterian Church with Rev. H. Floyd J. Sprague Dies At Fort Wayne
Floyd J. Sprague, 72, of 2902 Alexander Ave., Fort Wayne, died at 11:50 a.m. Sunday at the Lutheran hospital following an illness for which he had been admitted two hours earlier. Mr. Sprague, a native of Monroe, retired six years ago from the Zollner Corp., where he had been employed 14 years. He was a veteran of World War 1. Surviving are his wife, Clara; a son, Floyd L. Sprague of Cleveland, O.; two grandchildren; two brothers, George Sprague of Decatur, and Chalmer M. Gilbert of Fort Wayne, and two sisters, Mrs. J. C. Mrs. Emma Stilwell, 51, 726 Colerick Street, died at 2:15 o’clock Thursday afternoon at the Lutheran Hospital. Donald Striggle

MAN, 81, HANGS SELF ON FARM
Columbia City, May 14 - Donald Striggle, 81, was found this morning hanged in the corn crib of his son’s farm southwest of South Whitley. The aged man had placed a noose about his neck and stepped of a pile of grain-filled sacks, according to Dr. Park Huffman, County Coordinator, who investigated. Surviving are two sons, Lloyd Striggle, at who’s home the tragedy occurred and Dr. Claud Striggle, veterinarian at South Whitley, five grandchildren and a brother, Albert Striggle, South Whitley. The body was taken to the Miller Funeral Home in South Whitley.

Syracuse, May 13 – Alfred Tom, 74, of Syracuse, died Saturday night at the Kosciusko County Infirmary south of Warsaw. He had been ill for the past four years. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Joe Tribble of Syracuse and Mrs. Clifford Black of Elkhart, and three sons, Dale and Russell of Leesburg and Glen of Elkhart. Funeral services will be held at the Carr Funeral Home Wednesday at 2 pm (CDT) and interment will be in New Salem Cemetery, near here.

Minnie Alice (Smith) Van Horn

Mrs. Minnie Alice Van Horn, 63, died at her home three miles east of Monroeville about 9 o’clock last night after an illness of three months. She was a member of the Sugar Ridge United Brethren Church. Surviving are the husband, Charles; one daughter, Mrs. Chloe McCarthy; five sisters, Mrs. Emma Sheehan, Mrs. Lucy Neadstine, Mrs. Goldie Mohr, Mrs. Tillie Sheehan and Miss Frances Smith, all of Monroeville and three brothers, William and David Smith of Monroeville and Harvey Smith of Fort Wayne. The body was taken to the Painter Brothers Funeral Home at Monroeville and will be returned to the residence at noon today. Funeral services will be held at the home at 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon and at 2:30 o’clock in the Sugar Ridge Church, Rev. W. A. Hatfield officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Sylvester Joseph Voskuhl

Ft. Recovery, O., May 14 - Funeral services for Sylvester Joseph, 7-month-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Voskuhl of Ft. Recovery, will be conducted Wednesday morning at 9 o’clock from the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in charge of Father Rudolph Stoltz. Burial in the church cemetery. The infant died at the Gibbons Hospital in Celina Monday morning at 11 o’clock. Surviving besides the parents are the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Adam Esser.
