Warsaw, May 20 – Final rites for Lyman Dunnuck, 72, of Palestine, who died at the McDonald Hospital from injuries received when he was struck by an
automobile on April 12, will be held Tuesday at 2 pm (CST) at the Palestine Christian Church. Burial will be in the adjoining Cemetery.
Surviving are the widow, Alice; a step-son, Ernest E. Castleman of Huntington and three brothers, Nathan and George of Burket and
Frank of Claypool.

LaFONTAINE -- Douglas Wayne "Doug" Davis, 55, died at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, 2013. He was born in Toledo, Ohio to the late Billy Clay Davis and Luella (Bransford) Davis. He married Kim Starks on Jan. 5, 1996. She survives.
He retired in 2007 from Sonoco Products and following retirement, worked at White's Institute in the maintenance department. Doug was a member of The River Community Church in Marion. He was a former volunteer fireman for Jonesboro and former Jonesboro town marshal. He was a member of Swayzee Mason's Lodge # 637. He loved fishing, fixing things around the house, camping, traveling with his wife, making coffee at his church and riding his Harley. Most of all, Doug loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Kim Davis, LaFontaine; children, Bill (Whitney) Davis, Noblesville, Kyle (Angela) Kohlmorgen, Indianapolis, Kasy Kohlmorgen, Anderson and Bob Davis, Cincinnati, Ohio; grandchildren, Ashlyn, Ethan and Piper; mother, Luella (Lee) Parker, Marion; siblings, Brenda (Steve) Collins, Gail (Rick) Stanley and Patty (Mike) Spyers; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Clay Davis. Services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013 in River Community Church, 759 S. Lenfesty Ave., Marion, with Pastor Matthew Trexler officiating. Burial is in Estates of Serenity, Marion.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013 in Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave.

Glennis K. Felton, 97, of Heritage Pointe of Warren, IN, formerly of Van Buren, IN, passed away at 8:50 AM on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Heritage Pointe in Warren. She was born on Monday, September 20, 1920, in Jackson Twp, Wells County, IN. She married Bernohn Felton on Sunday, April 16, 1939; he passed away in 1985. Glennis graduated from Jackson Twp. High School in Wells County and Wayne University of Beauty Culture in Fort Wayne. She owned and operated a beauty shop for over 58 years in Van Buren. She was a member of the Van Buren United Methodist Church, Epta Epsilou Latriena Club, and the Marion General Hospital Aux. Glennis enjoyed traveling and will be greatly missed by her family.
Loving survivors include her only child- Larry (Judy) Felton, Marion, IN, Granddaughters - Julie (Patrick) Kennan, Gas City, IN, Tracey (Keith) Holmes, Marion, IN, Stephanie (Terrance Johnson) Felton, Fort Wayne, IN, Julie (Larry) Cole, Lafayette, IN, Joni (Bill) White, Ft. William J. Fennig Is Taken By Death
Funeral services for William J. Fennig, 66, of Celina, O., father of Frederick Fennig of Monroe, and brother of Alvin of Decatur, Edward, of Geneva, and Fred, of Berne, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Dick and Sons funeral home, Celina. Fennig suffered from a heart ailment, and died about an hour after admission to Gibbons hospital Wednesday morning.
Born Jan. 29, 1897 at New Corydon, he was the son of Lewis and Ida Runkel-Fennig. He had lived in Celina since 1932.
Surviving are his widow, the former Irene Butcher; the son and three brothers, and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Grile, Mrs. Aura White, and Mrs. Gladys Stolts, all of Portland; and five grandchildren.
Mr. Fennig was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Celina, O., and was a retired carpenter. He last worked for the Karsh Stone company.
Friends may call at the Dick & Sons funeral home after 7 p.m. today and noon Friday. Burial will be in the Swamp College cemetery.

Hope Giger, age 90, a former resident of Portland and Dunkirk, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Georgetown Place in Fort Wayne.
Hope was born on December 27, 1926, in Hartford City, Indiana, the daughter of Clyde and Esther (Woolard) Lake. She graduated from Hartford City High School in 1945. She married Carl Giger on November 28, 1946 and he passed away on January 31, 1995.
Hope worked for G.E. in Marion, 3M in Hartford City and retired from the Jay School Corporation.
Survivors include: 2 sons: Rex Giger - Summitville, Indiana; Douglas Giger (wife Linda) - Port Charlotte, Florida
1 daughter: Ronda Blankenbeker (husband Denny) - New Haven, Indiana; 7 grandchildren and several great grandchildren

Dr. George W. Gillie, 82, well-known Fort Wayne veterinarian who served five terms in the U.S. House of Representatives after eight years as Allen County Sheriff, died today at 3:05 a.m. at Parkview Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient since last November.
Dr. Gillie was a leader in the Republican Party and in lodge, church, civic and veterinarian affairs here during a long and colorful career. While at Ohio State University he was an all-around athlete.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Plymouth Congregational Chu8rch with the Rev. Lawrence Fairchild, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Lindenwood Cemetery. Friends may call at Klaehn & Sons Funeral Home Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The family has asked that, in place of flowers, memorials be provided to Plymouth Church of the Shrine crippled Children's Hospital.
Dr. Gillie was elected to Congress from the Indiana Fourth District in 1938 and served five consecutive terms. He became widely known for his fight to eradicate the hoof and mouth disease in livestock while a Representative.
Prior to that, Dr. Gillie was Sheriff of Allen County form 1916 to 1918. He ran for the office of Mayor of Fort Wayne on the Republican ticket in 1921, and in 1928 and 1934 was again elected sheriff.
Born in Greenian, Berwickshire, Scotland, he came to the country with his parents when 21 months old. He graduated for Ohio State University in 1907 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.
In 1908, one year after graduating from college, he married the former Grace N. Merion, of Columbus, O., who preceded him in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Elton L. (Jean C.) Marquart, Fort Wayne, and Mrs. John T. (Charlotte) Strawbridge, Salt Lake City, Utah; a sister, Mrs. Joseph Pearson, St. Paul, Minn.; two brothers, Harold Gillie, Camden, Mich., and James Stuart Gillie, Fort Wayne; and two grandchildren.

more than 50 years resided on Madison Street. He was educated in the Cathedral Schools and for a time was employed at the Ogden
Plumbing Shop. After he married, Mr. Grime moved to Seymour where he entered business for himself. Surviving are the widow, two other daughters and a sister, Mrs.

Mrs. Ida Garmire Arnold, aged 66 years, the wife of John J. Arnold, 327 Greenlawn avenue, died Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from cerebral hemorrhages after an illness of one week. She had been a resident of Fort Wayne for thirty-five years, and was a lifelong member of the English Lutheran church. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Garmire, of Lagrange county.
The marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold occurred March 30, 1873, and five children survive, as follows: Charles W. Arnold, Mrs. Charles W. Moreland, Mrs. John W. Leive, Preston B. and John E. Arnold. One daughter, Sadie, died eighteen years ago. There also survive four brothers and three sisters, as follows: Luther Garmire, of Imperial, Calif., Preston Garmire, of Grand Island, Cal., Horace Garmire of Lyford, Texas, Robert B. Huntington, Jan. 19 - Miss Mae Ellen Garretson, 25, died yesterday at a Fort Wayne hospital, where she was taken seven weeks ago
following four years of failing health. She was graduated from Lancaster Township High School in 1933. Surviving are the parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Emery Garretson, Polk Township; a brother, Claud Garretson, Andrews; a sister, Janice, at home; the paternal grandfather,
John B. Garretson and the maternal grandfather, J. M. Bailey. The body was taken to the parents' home. Funeral services will be conducted
at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Monument City, Rev. John H. Eberly officiating. Burial will be in the Monument City Cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Wilhelmina Graeber, 77, who died at her home Saturday morning near Woodburn, will be held Tuesday at 1:30 pm
at Zion Church at Bull Rapids near Woodburn. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be removed to the home this afternoon
from Oetting Funeral Home in Harlan. Although immediate cause of death was a hip fracture suffered five weeks ago, Mrs. Graeber had been
in failing health a long time. A resident of Allen and Adams Counties all her life, Mrs. Graeber was a member of Zion Lutheran Church at
Bull Rapids. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Emma Juergens, Mrs. Alvina Bleeke and Mrs. Luetta Leibundgut, all of Milwaukee, Wis.,
Mrs. Louise Juergens of Fort Wayne and Mrs. Minnie Armbruster of Woodburn; a son, Fred Grabemeyer of Fort Wayne; six sisters and two
brothers. Mrs. Graeber's husband, Fred, died of a heart attack December 6 at the corner of Calhoun and Berry Street.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie L. Guebard, 73, 1232 Jones Street, who died at 7:30 o’clock Tuesday morning at her home following a
three-day illness, will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Chalfant-Perry & Pook Funeral Home, Rev. W. C. Mahr officiating.
Burial will be in Lindenwood Cemetery. Friends may view the body at the funeral home after noon today. The deceased was born in Decatur, and had resided here 30 years.
She was a member of Westfield Presbyterian Church. Survivors include the husband, Lewis; a son, Virgil Guebard of this city; two sisters, Mrs. Daisy Joker and Mrs. Lina Bralzell of this city,
and two brothers, Bert and Nald Haley of Decatur.

Van Wert, O., May 15 - E. E. Hammond, 74, retired mail carrier of Scott, O., died at noon today at Van Wert County Hospital. He had been ill for three years
and his condition had been critical for several weeks. The deceased, a native of Washington, D.C., had lived in Scott for more than 40 years.
He served as a rural letter carrier for 27 years and retired five years ago. He was a member of Van Wert B.P.O. Elks. Surviving are his widow, Cora; and two daughters, Mrs. Anna
Waldron of Breckenridge, Mich., and Mrs. Grace Smith of Scott.

the widow of Tobias Hershberger who died three years ago. Mrs. Hershberger had been a resident of the city 30 years and was a
member of the Mennonite Church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ora Miller of Culbertson, Nebr.; four sons, Clem of Culbertson, Harry of Indianapolis, Merritt and Robert of
Robert Wayne; two brothers, Ira McClairen of Toledo and Judson McClairen of Wauscon, O. Fourteen grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren

Mrs. Kallenberger Dies Early Sunday
Mrs. Margaret Kallenberger, 84, of Blackcreek township, Mercer county, O., died at 5:30 a.m. Sunday at the Van Rue hospital in Van Wert, O., following an illness of two years.
She was born near Wilshire, O., March 26, 1878, a daughter of Jacob and Christine Meyers-Miller. Her husband, M. J. Kallenberger, preceded her in death March 4, 1952.
Mrs. Kallenberger was a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran church at Chattanooga, O.
Surviving are one son, John A. Kallenberger of Wilshire route 1; a foster son, Wesley Kallenberger of Decatur; a foster daughter, Mrs. James (Ardella) Hamrick of Wren, O.; 21 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Miller of Goshen, and Carl F. Miller of Wilshire route 1, and two sisters, Mrs. Howard Caffee and Mrs. W. J. Reef, both of Wilshire route 1.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Zwick funeral home, the Rev. Arnold J. Green, officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran cemetery at Chattanooga. Friends may call at the funeral home until time of the services.

Charles M. Kays, 56, of 721 Lawton Place, engineer at the Francis Slocum School, died of an embolism at 6:50 pm yesterday at St.
Joseph’s Hospital where he had been a patient since May 2. Mr. Kays suffered a heart attack while at work on that date. He is survived by the widow, Laura E; four brothers and four
sisters: Claude, John, James, Sol, Mattie, Rose, Gabriella and Bertha Kays, all of Willisburg, Ky. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Willisburg.

Henry G. Kranich, 97, of Decatur, IN formerly of Indianapolis, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018 at Adams Woodcrest. He was born on Dec.2, 1920 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Henry and Angela (Weber) Kranich. On February 7, 1942, in Buffalo, NY, Henry married Mary A. Keroack; she preceded him in death on February 2, 1995.
Surviving are daughters, M. Diane (Michael) Mess of Dublin, Ohio and Deborah Ann (Grant) Porter of Decatur along with grandchildren, Matthew (Alison) Mishler, Mark Mishler, Mary Anne (John) Workinger, Bradford (Jennifer) Mess, Megan Mess, and Kenton (Janice) Mess. Great grandchildren, Drake and Ella Mishler, and Cain and Zeke Workinger; three step grandchildren, Erik, Kevin and Kyle Porter and three step great grandchildren, Issac, Lucy and Ally Porter. He was predeceased by a sister, Catherine Shuttleworth.
Henry graduated from Wayne State University School of Pharmacy in 1949 following service in the U. S. Army during WW II. He retired from Eli Lilly & Co. in 1985 after 37 years with the company. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur, IN and also a lifetime member of the NRA.
Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, with visitation prior from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Pastor James Voorman will be officiating. Burial will take place on Monday, January 15th at 1:00 p.m. at Acacia Park Cemetery, Beverly Hills, MI.

EDGERTON MAN KILLED BY TRAIN - Daughter, 18, Driver of Automobile, is Slightly Injured
Edgerton, O., May 20 – John Lace, 60, of three miles northwest of Edgerton was killed instantly at 7:15 am today when an automobile in which he was riding
was struck by the Pacemaker, crack New York Central Train, at the main street crossing here. His daughter, Meta, 18, driver of the
automobile, escaped with minor injuries. It was reported that the flasher signals at the crossing were working at the time. Witnesses said the auto had stopped while another train
which had stopped at the station pulled out, and then started forward into the path of the Pacemaker, which does not stop here. The girl
swerved the car sufficiently that the train struck it only a glancing blow. Lace suffered a fracture of the skull and his daughter suffered head
abrasions and bruises as well as shock. At the time of the accident, the girl, a senior at Edgerton High School, was on her way to join her
classmates here for a trip to Sandusky. Dr. Howard J. Luxan of Montpelier, Coroner of Williams County, investigated and said his verdict would be accidental death.
The widow and eight children survive. The body was removed to the Krill Funeral Home here. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Lindberg of Sturgis, and two sisters, Mrs. Neil Kracht and Mrs. Mary Gorman of Batavia, Ia. Services will be held at the Foglesong Funeral Home Wednesday
afternoon at 2:30 o’clock with Rev. R. J. Button officiating. Burial will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery.

DRIVER BURNED IN WRECK DIES - Sunday Crash Victim Expires at Celina
Celina, O., May 17 – Byron Linson, 42, Springfield, O., truck driver, died this morning at the Gibbons Hospital here of burn suffered Sunday when his truck
struck a bridge abutment on U.S. Highway No. 33 seven miles northeast of here and burst into flames. The impact of the crash threw blazing gasoline over truck and
driver. Linson leaped into a creek under the bridge and extinguished the flames in his clothing, but he suffered first and second degree
burns. The truck was destroyed. The body was taken to Springfield. The widow and three daughters survive.

Columbia City, May 13 – Mrs. Matilda Livergood, 63, of troy Township died this morning of Bright’s disease at the Whitley County Hospital.
Surviving is her husband, John W. Livergood. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3 pm (CDT) at the DeMoney Funeral Home here with Elgie Koughn, local Salvation
Army leader, officiating. Burial will be in Adams Cemetery.

North Manchester, May 18 – Harry C. Long, 70, of North Manchester died this morning at the Wabash County Hospital at Wabash, where he had been taken in
March after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage. The widow survives. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. (CST) at the Bender
Funeral Home here with Rev. Homer Ogle officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.

Wabash, Jan. 19 - Mrs. Lena Long, 71, died at 10 o'clock this morning at her home here. Death was unexpected as Mrs. Long had not been
ill. She was the widow of Samuel Long and was born near Urbana. Mrs. Long lived in Grant County on a farm for a number of years, but had
spent the major part of her life in this county. She is survived by nine children, Miss Leona Long, public school teacher here who made
her home with her mother; Hobart Long, also at home; Mrs. Beulah Parks, Mrs. Ray Gollifer, Mrs. W. A. George and Theodore Long, all of
Muncie; Orville and Charles Long, Gas City, and Harvey Long, Los Angeles. [buried Falls Cem., Wabash, Wabash County, IN]
