Benjamin ZIMMERMAN, aged 80, one of the oldest citizens of this place (Ladoga) died at his home here at 1:10 o'clock Tuesday monring following a heart attack suffered Monday afternoon. Mr. Zimmerman was well known in this community where he resided most of his life. While plowing potatoes in his garden near his home Monday afternoon Mr. Zimmerman was seized with a pain in his chest. He quit plowing and retired to his home where he rested until he went to bed early in the evening. Shortly before 1 o'clock Tuesday monring Mrs. Zimmerman was awakened by the heavy breathing of her husband and found him suffering from a heart attack. A physician was summoned but Mr. Zimmerman died before he reached the home. Mr. Zimmerman was a son of John and Rebecca BOling Zimmerman and was the last of a family of 10 children. He was born in Botetourt Co VA. he was a plasterer by trade and following that occupation until two years ago. He was a member of the IOOF Lodge of Ladoga and Ladoga christian Church. Mr. ZImmerman was married four times. His first wife was MIss Marcella CHEWNING. Two children were born to this union one of whom died in infancy. The other, Barney resides in Akron, Ohio. Mr. Zimmerman's second wife was mIss Lida Rogers, sister of Carl Rogers who died here MOnday. On Sept 1892, he married MIss Alice DODD who preceded him in death in 1895. In April 1897, he was married to Miss Harriet MORRISON who survives him along with one son, Owen of Ladoga. Two grandchildren also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Zimmerman will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Ladoga Christian Church with Rev. SS Smith officiating. Burial in Ladoga. kbz
