Mrs. Sarah E. Zerface, 97, died Thursday morning at Small Nursing Home in Waynetown where she had resided since 1964. Mrs. Zerface was a member of the New Market Baptist Church 50 years before transferring to the First Baptist Church in Crawfordsville. She was educated in Alamo Schools. She was born Aug. 10, 1870, near Alamo, to John and Mary J. (Davis) Miles. She married Charles A. Zerface in 1888 in Crawfordsville. Surviving are a nephew, Ray Chamness of New Market, and a niece, Mrs. Myrtle Downing of Danville, Ill. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1943 and two sisters. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Reeves Funeral Home in New Market with Rev. Jack McDaniels officiating. Interment will be in Freedom Cemetery. Friends may pay respects at the funeral home.
