John P. Zachary, almost 90 years of age, died at 10:08 a.m. Sunday at his home near the city on the Perrysville Road of complications. Deceased had been ill about two weeks. He was born near this city on March 30, 1837, the son of Elijah and Elizabeth Zachary. He was married to Nancy Ann Aken. Mr. Zachary was a member of the United Brethren Church and his entire life with the exception of four years was spent in Montgomery County. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Elmer Payne of Anderson; four sons, George of Michigan; James at whose home he died; SM of Lafayette and Charles of Crawfordsville; 34 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren; four brothers, Hezekiah of Waveland; Jimison of Terre Haute; Samuel of Whitesville and Redden of Crawfordsville. Funeral services will be held from the First United Brethren Church of this city Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. Interment will be made at Oak Hill Cemetery.
