Earl C. Zachary, 59, city street department employee died Friday evening at his home, 807 E. College Street after a long illness. A native of Crawfordsville, he was a son of Jacob D and Jesse Pearl Stamps Zachary and was born Oct 11, 1902. He was a member of MIlligan Memorial Presbyterian Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles and Past president of that lodge. Mr. Zachary was employed for a time at the Federal Foundry for 29 years. For the past several years he was with the street department here. Surviving are the wife, the former Glady M. Hearn a daughter, Mrs. Beverly Z Clark of this city; three sisters, Mrs. Helen Abney, Mrs. Vivian McGaughey and Mrs. Mae Morgan all of Crawfordsville, two brothers, Kenneth of Crawfordsville and Robert D with the US Army of Korea; a stepson, William Edward Hearn of Belle Glade, Fla ; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Patricia Ferguson of this city; 7 grandchldren and several nieces and nephews. A brother preceded him in death.
