Mrs. Crystal H. Zachary, age 44,
died suddenly at her home at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday. She had attended funeral
services Tuesday for a brother-in-law, Harold R. Zachary. Mrs. Zachary had
spent her entire married life in Crawfordsville and was a member of the Milligan
Memorial Presbyterian Church. She was secretary of the church Sunday School, a
deaconess in the church and member of the Missionary Society and Willing
Workers Sunday School class. Born July 18, 1921 in Roachdale she was the
daughter of Clay & Melissa Ann Fry Runion. She was reared in Roachdale,
Bainbridge and Danville. She was educated in Montgomery County Schools. On Jan
4, 1949 she married Fred A. Zachary in Crawfordsville. She was preceded in
death by her mother in 1943. Survivors include the husband a son, Ronald 14;
the father, Clay Runion Rt 1, Waveland; a brother, Ira William Runion of
Crawfordsville; three uncles, Sam Runion of Crawfordsville; Frank Runion of
Jamestown and Cecil Runion of Ladoga and two aunts, Mrs. Charles Merritt of
Pittsboro and Mrs. Fay Maddux of Moreland, Okla. Funeral services were held at
2 p.m. Friday at Bright Funeral Home in Crawfordsville. Rev. OK Malone, pastor
of the Milligan Memorial Presbyterian Church officiated. Burial was in
Crawfordsville Masonic Cemetery – kbz
