Burchard C. Zachary, 70 of 1006 E. Chestnut Street, died this morning in Ben Hur Nusing Home. He had been a painter and paper hanger until retiring in 1971. He was a member of Milligan Memoriay Presbyterian Church. Born April 11, 1905 at North Salem, he was a son of Ephraim and Nancy A. Watson Zachary. He attended Crawfordsville schools. Surviving are five daughters, Nijol Best of Pontiac, Ill; Meridithe M. Gray and Caroline Sue Gardner of Columbus City, Connie Lee Rogers of New Ross and Penny Joe Harrison of Waveland; three sons, Richard and Clayborn E. of Crawfordsville and and Donald P. of Columbia City; two sisters, Ethel M. Hudson and Hattie W. Milligan of Crawfordsville; grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Three brothers and two sisters are deceased. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Burkhart Funeral Home with Rev. Charlotte HoTopp Zachary officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday.
