Zachary - Birchard

Birchard L. Zachary, 78, former Crawfordsville businessman, died at the Mesa Lutheran Hospital Oct. 21. He was a charter member of the POS of A, a 25-year member of the Elks and a member of the Scottsdale Gem and Mineral Club. Survivors include the wife, Mabel; two sons, David Allen of Tucson, Ariz. and Philip Dale of Broken Arrow, Okla.; a daughter, Gloria Ann Young of Brownsburg; a step-son, Richard Gale Zellar of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Cora M. Taylor of Crawfordsville; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several cousins and nieces in the Crawfordsville area. Funeral services were held at the Melcher Mortuary Chapel of the Roses. Internment was in the East Resthaven Park at Phoenix, Ariz. – jlr
