Benjamin M. Zachary, 83, died at 9 a.m. Sunday at his home 1024 E Chestnut St. He had been in failing health for one year. Born in Montgomery County,on July 14, 1872, he was the son of Elijah & Margaret Baldwin Zachary. In June 1903 he married Sarepta Toney. He was a charter member of the Milligan Memorial Presbyterian Church. Survivors include the widow: two daughters, Mrs. Eddie Newlin of Darlington and Mrs. Dortha Patrick of Crawfordsville; and one brother, Jacob of Crawfordsville; two sisters, Mrs. Ada Chesterson and Mrs. Nettie Nichols both of Crawfordsville, 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandcildren. Funeral services will be held Tues at 2 p.m. at Proffit & Sons Fun home with Rev OJ McMullen asissted by Rev TJ Byrge officiating.
