Alvin Zachary, formerly a resident of this city, died at Hammond after a short illness, according to word rec'd here by a great niece, Mrs. Paul Bastiain of this city. Mr. Zachary was a Civil War veteran and was about 80. The body will be brought to the Hunt Funeral Parlors over the Monon tonight. Alvin R. Zachary, age 79 who has been ill for several weeks with cancer passed away on Wed at the home of his niece, Mrs. HL McDonald and Mrs. CP Bastain at Hammond. The body was brought here this morning and taken to the Hunt Funeral Homne where friends may view the body until Sun afternoon at which time funeral services will be held at Memorial Church in charge of the pastor, Rev EA Arthur with interement at the Masonic cemtery. Mr. Zachary formerly resided in this city. His wife preceded him in death several years ago. He is survied by 5 brothers, Samuel of Whitesville, Redbou of Crawfordsville, MH Zachary of Waveland, J.
