Yount - Irena Ritter

Mrs. Irene YOUNT, 68, resident of the Waveland community almost her entire life, died at 7 o'clock Wed. July 27 at St. Vincent's hospital where she had been a patient for 7 weeks. Mrs. Yount, however, had been in failing health for the past 3 years or more. Death was due to a heart ailment, although some weeks ago she suffered the amputation of one leg. Mrs. Young was born Sept 22, 1879, near Waveland, the daughter of Isaac and LaSadie Ritter. She was married Sept 22, 1897 on her 18th birthday to John Terry Yount of Waveland. Mr. Yount, a farmer south of Waveland died about four years ago. Mrs. Yount was a member of the Waveland Christian Church and Royal Neighbors. A son, Earl Yount of Plymouth and daughter, Mrs. Winfred Terry of Indianapolis survive together with four grandchildren. Following the death of Mr. Yount, Mrs. Yount made her home with her daughter in Indianapolis. The Rev. Cornelius Airhart had charge of the funeral services held at the Machledt Funeral Home, Friday afternoon. Burial in Russellville. - kbz
