VEEDERSBURG, Ind. — Oxford Wright Young, 79, died at 10:20 a.m. Friday (March 7, 1969) at the Tall Trees Nursing Home where he had been a patient since Dec. 23. He had been in failing health the past year. Born on Oct. 24, 1889 in Pulaski County, Ky., he was the son of Henderson and Catherine Hines Young. He was married on August 11, 1917 to Lena Handley, who preceded him in death in 1955. He was a veteran of World War I and was a member of the American Legion Post No. 288 of Veedersburg. He also belonged to the Stone Bluff United Methodist Church. He was a retired employe of the Harrison Steel Co. in Attica. Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Anna Farley and Mrs. Debbie Carlson, both of Attica, Mrs. Emma Greeger of Williamsport, Mrs. Minnie Clardy, Mrs. Nina Payne and Mrs. Ruth Eacret, all of Veedersburg; a son, Willard Young of Veedersburg, a brother, Silas Young of Veedersburg; a sister Minnie Jenkins of Silver Springs, Md.; 34 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Stone Bluff United Church with the Rev. Earl Carmichael officiating. The body will be taken to the church one hour before services. Burial will be in Osborne Prairie Cemetery. Friends will be received after 2 p.m. Sunday at the Fishero Funeral Home. --typed by Walt W
