Waynetown – L.B. “Brig” Young, 64, of Waynetown, died at 7 a.m. Sunday in the Americana Nursing Home at Lafayette where he had been a patient a month. He was born Aug 30, 1903 near Roachdale, a son of Thomas H. and Bessie Hartman Young. He was married June 13, 1960 to Elpha Florey, who survives him. He was a member of the Roachdale Presbyterian Church, a life member of Telephone Pioneers of America and a life member of Indiana Bell Men’s Club. He was employed by Indiana Bell Telephone Co for 34 years until his retirement in 1965 when he moved from Indianapolis to Waynetown. He was a graduate of Roachdale HS. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Sarah Lee Clark of Anchorage, Alaska; a brother, Glen Robert Young of Houston;  two sisters, Mrs. Mary Gladys Robbins and Mrs. Alice Muterspaugh, both of Indianapolis and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, William. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Servies-Thomas Funeral Home here with Rev. GE Tremaine officiating.
