Ladoga -- Dudley Ward YOUNG 71 years old father of Beecher Young, Montgomery County prosecuting attorney died at his home here Wed at 2:30 plm. He had been in failing health for the past year. Mr. Young was born in Ladoga Oct 31, 1879 the son of Lafayette and Mary Elizabeth Brookshire Young. He was married to Coly Britts Oct 1, 1899. She survives. Mr. Young was a farmer in this county all his life. He attended school at Ldadoga. He was a member of the Ladoga Christian Church and Masonic Lodge at Roachdale. Other survivors include 3 daughters, Mrs. Mary Rutledge of Beech Grove, Mrs. Gail Gilbert and Mrs. Opal Crosby both of near Roachdale, 4 sons, Alfred Dudley, Drake Britts and John Lee of Ladoga and Mr. Young, one sister, Mrs. Grace Denny of Roachdale; a niece, Mrs. Pierce Coapstick and 12 randchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Leona Coulter. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m Friday at Cox Funeral Home, ladoga Rev James Nay in charge. Burial in Ladoga Cemetery. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 at the Nobles Reeves Funeral Home for Dudley YOUNG, whose death occurred Wednesday morning at the home of Mrs. Lela WRAY where he has lived for the past several months. Rev. VB Keiser, pastor of the Methodist Church officiated, reading from 23rd Psalm & 139th Psalm the 13th Chapter of 1st Corinthians and used for his text, the first verse of the 91st Psalm. Ernest W. Yount and Mrs. Lucille Etter singers were accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Mary Swindler for the songs in the Garden and Nearer My God to Thee... The deceased was survived by his nephew, Walter Pinkley of this place who was the only relative present at the funeral and burial. Other nieces and nephews reside in Kentucky. - kbz
