VEEDERSBURG -- Cyrus Rush Young, 68, died Monday night at the home of Mrs. Dollie Roach, 200 North St., in Crawfordsville, following a year's illness. He had suffered a series of strokes, the final one a week ago. Born in Veedersburg, Dec. 19, 1889, Mr. Young was the son of Dr. Frank and Hortense Rush Young. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Vera Young. Mr. Young was a graduate of the Veedersburg High School and also of Valparaiso University. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Veedersburg and also of the Indiana State Historic Society. Mr. Young had resided on his farm home near Veedersburg for many years. He was never married. He had been rooming at the Roach home in Crawfordsville for the past few weeks. Survivors include six cousins, Ada Young, Nellie Young and Irva Young, all of Veedersburg; Frank Young of Redwood Falls, Mont., and John Young and Dick Young, both of Crawfordsville. Friends may call at the Fishero Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the First Christian Church here with Rev. George Mitchell officiating and burial in Cold Spring Cemetery near here. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the services. --typed by Walt W
