VEEDERSBURG — Miss Ada L. Young, 81-year-old retired school teacher, who lived here for a number of years, died at 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at her home in Indianapolis. She suffered a stroke Saturday. Born Oct. 7, 1878, near Hillsboro, she was a daughter of William D. and Mary Fine Young. Miss Young was a graduate of Valparaiso University and studied at Butler University. She taught school in New Market, Stone Bluff and Alexandria before retiring in 1935. She was a member of Northwood Christian Church at Indianapolis, Valetta Chapter of OES at Veedersburg, Emera Club of OES and was a Past Matron of the Valetta Chapter of OES. Surviving are a sister, Miss Nellie E. Young, of Indianapolis with whom she made her home; four brothers, Frank of Redwood Falls, Minn., Ivan of Indianapolis, John R. and Walter B., both of Crawfordsville and an aunt, Mrs. Delaney Dodd of Westville. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Flanner and Buchanan Chapel in Broad Ripple. Rites also will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday here with Rev. George Mitchell in charge. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery at Waynetown. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Friday. -- typed by Walt W
