Wednesday morning, May 11, at her home Mrs. Lizzie Young, wife of John Young, departed this life after seven months of terrible suffering with a complication of diseases. So very easy were her last hours that she seemed like a tired child sinking into a restful sleep.
She leaves a husband and four sons, namely: Alonzo, of Crawfordsville, Omer, of Seattle, Wash., and Edgar and Lee, at home.
She was a devoted wife and mother and since her girlhood, a noble Christian, loved by all who knew her. She was born in 1839 in Boone County and was married to John Young May 11, 1858. She came to her home May 12, 1858, where she lived for just forty years. Her genial ways made her hosts of friends, who followed her to her last resting place. Among her last words were: “Peace, sweet peace. He will carry me home, sweet home.” – thanks to “S” for this obit
