Mrs. John V. Young died at the country residence just north of Shannondale at 1 o’clock Wednesday morning after suffering for 7-8 months from a complication of diseases which baffled the skill of physicians.  The funeral occurred on Thursday at 2 o’clock, Rev. Ewers of Darlington preaching the funeral sermon at the Presbyterian Church at Shannondale of which she had been a member many years.  She leaves besides the husband, four sons: Lon of near Crawfordsville; Omer in the west and Ed and Lee at home, the daughter having already gone on before.  Mrs. Young was possessed of a personality and beauty of character which won her many friends, and the large number which attended the funeral bore testimony to the respect in which she was held by all who knew her. --–kbz
