Mrs. Cornelia WYNN one of the oldest residents of Crawfordsville died Saturday morning at age 92 at her home in the residence of Mrs. Harriet Fisher, 205 W. College. Definite arrangements for the funeral have not yet been made but it will be from St. John´s Church probably Monday afternoon. Cornelia Abbie Sherman was born in Galveston TX on Oct 4, 1839. She was a niece of General Sidney Sherman one of the men most prominent in making the state of Texas. Her parents died and when she was 4 she was adopted by Major Jacob Wynn and his wife who was her mother´s sister. They were Massachusetts people who had lived for some time in Crawfordsville. From 1843 until her death Mrs. Wynn resided continuously in Crawfordsville. To the end of her life her memory of early days in Crawfordsville remained entirely clear. Mrs. Wynn was a life long member of St. John´s and until the last 2 or 3 years when health failed her she was a very active member. She was a woman of great gentleness and kindness and had many warm friends in C´ville throught the 88 years she lived here. Except for some cousins living in Tx and Mass the sole survivors of Mrs. Wynn are her daughter-in-law Mrs. Ella Wynn of C´ville and her granddaughter, Mrs. Dana Sanders, Ill.
