Stella, daughter of James and Eliza Wright, was born in Montgomery County, Indiana, March 6, 1880. Her death occurred after a prolonged illness, on Jan. 23, 1899, at the home of her parents, three miles southwest of New Market. In 1894 she united with the Methodist Church at New Market and was always a faithful and interested church worker. Her life seemed far too short for the multitude of relatives and friends who had learned to love her, but it was strong enough to impress them all with the strength and beauty of her character, which, added to her natural comeliness and her rare intelligence made her one of the most attractive and interesting persons of the entire community. The funeral was held from the residence, Jan. 25, and the remains were laid to rest in the Harshbarger Cemetery.
