Wright - James - 1918

New Market, Oct 12 - This morning at 6:30 o'clock occurred the death of James Wright at his home one mile east of town. Uncle Jim as he was known by everyone had been a sufferer from leakage of the heart for the past two years but had been feeling better for sometime until a few days ago until he took the Spanish influenza which caused his death. Deceased was 70 years of age and had been a farmer all his life. He had been a member of the ME Church for a number of years and always has been active in the church work., He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lide Wright, and daughter Mrs. Walter Vancleave of Chicago; two sons, John and William of Crawfordsville; four grandson Cella, Helen and Beulah Wright, all of Crawfordsville, James Vancleave of Chicago; three brothers, John of near Whitesville; Thomas of Mace; Samuel of Crawfordsville; one sister, Mrs. Lucy Doyel of New Market. Two children preceded him in death, a daughter, Stella, died 20 years ago and a son, Harly 7 years ago. There are no funeral announcements as yet as it is not known whether a public funeral will be permitted. - kbz
