Wright - Basil

LEBANON – Basil A. Wright, 65, of Jamestown, Rt. 2, died at 3:45 p.m. Saturday at his home one mile north of Advance. He was born in Boone County Sept. 10, 1898, to Edgar H. and Bertha O. Knoy Wright. He is deceased, and she survives, now living in Crawfordsville. He was married to Gladys W. Groves Feb. 7, 1923, in Advance. She survives him. He is also survived by two sons, LaVerne and Lloyd Wright of Jamestown; two daughters, Mrs. Robert Revell of Lebanon and Mrs. Charles Ramuson of Berlin, Germany; three brothers, Otis of Martinsville, Ernest of Crawfordsville and Lester of Tucson, Ariz.; one sister, Mrs. Thomas Emmert of Thorntown, and 11 grandchildren. He was a Mason at Advance and was a past master of the lodge there. He was also a member of the Conservation Club and was its treasurer. He farmed in Boone County all his life. For the past 18 years he was office manager of the ASC in Lebanon, and he was affiliated with the ASC for the past 27 years. Services will be at the Russell & Hitch Funeral Home here at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Rev. Raymond Duff will officiate. Burial will be in Old Union Cemtery near Advance. Friends may call at the funeral home. Masonic rites will be conducted Monday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. – jlr
