New Ross—Mrs. Ethel Vervia Wren, 76, of Rt. 1, died early Friday in Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville, where she had been a patient for one day. She was born Jan. 7, 1894, in Parke County to William and Mary Joyner Phelps. In September, 1909, she married Harry Wren. He died in 1957. Mrs. Wren was a member of Whitesville Christian Church. She worked as a nurses aid in private homes and previously had worked in the Ben Hur Nursing Home. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Laura Terry of Crawfordsville and a brother, Harry Phelps of Whitesville. She was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday by Rev. Howard L. Miller in Hunt & Son Funeral Home, Crawfordsville. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Crawfordsville. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Sunday.
