Edgar S. Wray, well known resident of New Market, passed away at Culver Hospital Thursday morning. Death occurred at 10:15 o'clock and was caused by an intestinal ailment. Mr. Wray had been a patient at the hospital for two days and an operation was performed Wednesday. The deceased was 73 years old and was born in New Market. He was a member of the Christian church and had many friends in his home community. Those surviving are the widow, one daughter, Mrs. Ed Groves, of near Crawfordsville, and one son, Damon C. Wray, of Darlington. Six grandchildren also survive. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. - thanks so very, very much to Sue P. for both of these :)

New Market, Aug. 12 - Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Christian church for Edgar S. Wray whose death occurred Thursday morning at Culver hospital at Crawfordsville after a serious illness of a couple of days, he having been in ill health for the past several months. A short service was held at the home at 1:15 o'clock in charge of the Rev. Charles McCarty, after which the body lay in state at the church from 1:30 until 2:30 o'clock. Rev. J. B. Nelson, pastor of the local Christian church, of which the deceased had been a faithful member for many years, officiated. Pallbearers were David S. Douglas, L. B. Etter, Leslie Cory, Roscoe Woods, Dr. J. L. Beatty and W. W. Busenbark. Those who bore the floral offerings were Elizabeth Kelsey, Bee Groves, Eva Heiland, Rebecca Wray, Ethel Harlan, Carrie Vancleave, Naomi Beatty and Ruth Beatty. Interment was made at Masonic cemetery at Crawfordsville. The funeral and burial was attended by many relatives and friends.
