Wray - Carl

NEW MARKET – Carl A. Wray, 72, died at 11 a.m. Saturday of a heart ailment. He was born May 31, 1882, to Wilda J. and Carrie Bowers Wray. He was married Feb. 24, 1918, to Chloe Doyel of Indianapolis. Mr. Wray was a member of the New Market Christian Church where he had been a deacon, elder and trustee. He was also a member of the Modern Woodmen of America. He was a farmer most of his life. He attended Willow Grove High School and later business college. He was preceded in death by his wife and one brother. Surviving are a son, Shirl Wray of Kokomo; a daughter, Mrs. David Bonwell of here; three sisters, Mrs. Morton Watkins, Lois Wray and Mrs. Earl McMahen, all of Indianapolis, and four grandchldren. Services will be at the Noble Reeves Funeral Home here at 10.30 a.m. Monday. Rev. Calvin Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery in Crawfordsville. – jlr
