Mrs. Elizabeth C. Worley, mother of retired Willson School principal Ralph L. Worley of 113 W. College St., died this week in a Lebanon nursing home at the age of 97. She was a native of Rush County, Ind., the daughter of J. B. and Martha Jane Hamilton Farwick. She was born Sept. 16, 1870. She married James M. "Mel" Worley, a Lebanon attorney, Dec. 24, 1888. He preceded her in death in 1929. Mrs. Worley was a member of the Centenary Methodist Church, and a charter member of the Lebanon Order of Eastern Star. She was also preceded in death by a daughter who died in childhood and a 20-year-old son who drowned. Three brothers and a sister are also deceased. Survivors in addition to the son mentioned above include another son, Clark A. Worley of Indianapolis; a brother, Taylor Farwick of Terhune; six grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Myers Chapel of Memories. Rev. Richard Dawes Akers will officiate. Burial will be in the Lebanon Oak Hill Cemetery.
