Mrs. Mildred I. Woodruff, 64, native of Waynetown and wife of Samuel M. Woodruff, former Crawfordsville High School teacher, died at 6:50 p.m. Monday at the Clinton County Hospital in Frankfort. She had been ill for four months. The Woodruff residence in Frankfort is at 556 South William Road. Born May 5, 1900, Mrs. Woodruff was the daughter of Clayton and Rebecca Moffett Ingersoll. She was married to Mr. Woodruff Oct. 24, 1925. The deceased was a graduate of Waynetown High School and attended Indiana University for three years. She was later graduated from Indiana State College and taught for 25 years in Indiana public schools, the last 15 years in Clinton County. Mrs. Woodruff was a member of the First Christian Church, the American Association of University Women, Tri Kappa Sorority, and was secretary of the Clinton County Tuberculosis Association board of directors. She also was a member of the Eastern Star of Crawfordsville. Surviving, in addition to the husband who was Frankfort superintendent of schools after leaving here, are three sisters, Mrs. William Munns of Bloomington, Ind., Mrs. Ralph Bounnell of Crawfordsville and Mrs. H. H. Johnson of Covington; three brothers, Ralph M. Ingersoll and Paul C. Ingersoll, both of Hillsboro, and James L. Ingersoll of Waynetown. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Goodwin Funeral Home in Frankfort in charge of Rev. George W. Smith. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Wednesday.
