Herbert A. Woodrow, age 84, a prominent Fountay County farmer residing near Cates, died early Friday morning, Jan 21 1966, at Robert Long Hospital,Indianapolis, where he had been a patient one day. He was stricken ill suddenly and fell off a truck at his home Thursday afternoon. Mr. Woodrow was born Dec 29 1881, in Fountain County, the son of John and Maggie Simmons Woodrow. He was married to Bernie Cates, who preceded him in death. He later married Deltha McCammon, who survives. Surviving in addition to his wife, are: one daughter Mrs. Helen Kay of Indianapolis, Kenneth of Chambersburg PA., Glen and Russell of Covington Rt., and Harold of Attica Rt., one stepson Nevolyn of Carlisle; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Noel of Marion and Mrs. Beulah Staggs of Crawfordsville; three brothers, Charles of Tangier, Dewey of Covington and Fred of Covington Rt. 1; 16 grandchildren; three step grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Woodrow Funeral Home in Kingman. The Rev. Alfred dobbs and the Rev. Thomas Stapp officiated. Burial was in Snoddy Cemetery, south of Covington. Serving as pallbearers were grandsons, Duane, Ronald, Alan, Dale, Kevin, and Robert Woodrow and John Kay. - kbz
