Waynetown - Henry W. WOOD, 82 died at 10:06 a.m. Saturday in Home Hospital at Lafayette. Mr. Wood farmed in the Waynetown community until his retirement in 1975. He moved to Rt 5, Crawfordsville in 1980. He was a member of the Waynetown Christian Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent several years. He was a member of the Montgomery County Farm Bureau and was a DeKalb Seed Corn Dealer. He graded from Waynetown HS in 1921. Mr. Wood was born near Hillsboro Dec 28, 1902, a son of Charles and Emma Myer Wood. He was married July 5, 1921, to Ruth Work. She preceded him June 10, 1963. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Sarah) Booher of Rt 1, Clarks Hill; two grandchildren, Penelope Walter of Rt 1, Center Point and Daniel Booher of Rt 5 Crawfordsville; and two great grandchildren. A son, Wilbur was killed in 1944 during WWII. Five brothers and a sister are deceased. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown, with Rev. Herbert Woodard officiating. Interment will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Monday - kbz
