Source: The obituary is from a collection of newspaper (paper names not recorded) obituaries saved, by Fauniel Hershberger, during the 1950's, 60's, 70's and 80's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

VEEDERSBURG — Harold E. Wood, 62-year-old World War I veteran, died at noon Saturday in Veterans Hospital at Danville, Ill. He had been a patient there three weeks and had been in failing health 13 years with a heart ailment. Born Jan. 3, 1897, at Hillsboro, he was the son of Edwin and Winnie Leath Wood. He was married March 1, 1917, to India Baldwin of Veedersburg. Mr. Wood was last employed by R. R. Donnelley & Sons Co. at Crawfordsville. He was a member of the Lutheran Church. Survivors include the wife; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Whitlow of Indianapolis; a son, Lawrence of Crawfordsville; and a sister, Mrs. Edith Lyons of Covington. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fishero Funeral Home here with Rev. Donald Hoger of Crawfordsville officiating. Interment be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Harold E. Wood, 62, a printer, died Saturday in the Veterans Administration in Danville where he had been a medical patient about three weeks. He had been under care for a heart condition about 13 years.  Born Jan 3, 1897 at Hillsboro, he was the son of Edwin and Winnie Leath Wood and had been employed by Donnelly & Sons at Crawfordsville. He was an Army veteran of WWI and a member of the Lutheran Church.  On March 1, 1917 he married Indian Baldwin who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Betty Whitlow of Indianapolis; a son, Lawrence of Crawfordsville and a sister, Mrs. Edith Lyons of Covington. Services were held at the Fishero Funeral Home Tuesday with Rev. Donald Hoger of Crawfordsville officiating. Burial was in the Masonic Cemetery at Waynetown. - kbz
