Withrow - Flo Long

THORNOWN – Flo Withrow, 85, of Thorntown, died at 5:30 a.m. today in Witham Hospital at Lebanon. Mrs. Withrow had been in poor health since June. She was a member of Thorntown Christian Church and had been employed as a telephone operator at Lebanon and Indianapolis many years ago. She and her husband farmed in Washington Township for 38 years until retiring in 1960 and moving to Thorntown. Born in Boone County April 24, 1892, she was a daughter of John and Edna Bennett Long. She attended Washington Township schools. She married Byron Withrow at Frankfort. He preceded her in death December 1975. Mrs. Withrow is survived by a stepson, Roy Withrow of Seminole, Fla.; a brother, Blinn Long of Frankfort; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A brother and sister also preceded her in death. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Russell & Hitch Funeral Home at Thorntown with the Rev. Alan Moody officiating. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday. – jlr
